Computer repairs still available in Basildon Town Centre

Updated news. Since Basildon Shopping Centre introduced the rule that shops can’t use street boards we have been forced to open a shop in the Eastgate Centre www.basildoncomputercentre.co.uk is now open for business.

After the sudden closure of the only computer repair shop in Basildon Town Centre, Datastore Computing have decided to step in and give local people the support they need. They have opened a new repair centre operating in their offices which are reached through the Belvoir Lettings shop, opposite Toys R Us.

Datastore Computing have been trading since 1997, and in the town centre since 2010. They had been concentrating on business services such as websites and IT support, but since the repair company closed down and people started coming into their offices desperate for someone to sort out their problems, a new member of staff has been recruited into their team just for looking after repairs. He has already completed repairs including replacing the hinges on a damaged laptop and removing a virus from a computer.

To make it simple and give people confidence, a price list is displayed in the window of Belvoir Lettings so people know what to expect before they come in.

Director Paul Edwards said “I know what it’s like when you have a problem and the only repair company is gone, you don’t know where to go and you are wondering if you are going to have to throw the computer away. Well we are now here to give people the support they need.”
